Anthony Cimino

Anthony Cimino is Vice President and Head of Policy at Carta, an equity management company that builds the infrastructure for innovators, supporting approximately 35,000 companies, over 2.2 million stakeholders, and more than 5,000 funds.

In his role, Anthony oversees the team charged with policy development, advocacy, and engagement to expand equity ownership and bolster private markets. Carta’s policy team has helped expand investor access through broadening the definition of Accredited Investor, eased capital formation in private markets through reforms to the exempt offering framework, and helped Carta navigate product approvals. The policy team has also helped Carta launch its Equity Essentials, an initiative to provide foundational equity education to empower employees to maximize the equity they have earned.

Prior to joining Carta, Anthony served as Head of Government Affairs at the Bank Policy Institute, a trade association that represents the nation’s leading banks. During his time there he led efforts to tailor the bank regulatory environment, pass policy changes to the Bank Secrecy Act, and reauthorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program. He also helped restructure the trade association and guide it through a merger.

Anthony started his career working for the Committee on Financial Services of the US House of Representatives, where he helped Congress navigate the financial crisis and resulting regulatory reform, the Dodd-Frank Act. He has an MBA from Johns Hopkins, and an undergraduate degree from UCLA.
